Dance of the Dandelion

Love's quest leads her the world over.

Dandelion Dering was born a peasant in the English village of Arun, but her soul yearned for another life, another world. One filled with color and music, with adventure and passion . . . with more. Haunted by childhood memories, Dandelion determines to find a better existence than the life every peasant in the village contents themselves with. Even if her sweetheart William’s predictions prove true, and her journey leads straight to heartache.

From her sleepy hamlet to the intrigue of castle life, from the heart of London to the adventurous seas, Dandelion flees from the mistakes of her past, always seeking that something, that someone who will satisfy her longings.

Will Dandelion ever find the rhythm to her life's dance . . . or did she leave her chance for true love at home in Arun village?

SO COME JOIN IN THE FUN! GRAB SOME FOOD FROM OUR WAITER JESSE

  1. Congratulations, Dina!
We are so thrilled for you and can't wait for Dance of the Dandelion and all that will follow!

I'm blessed to have you as my Inky sister.

  2. LOL. I'm loving the photos of the help. ;-) And it's a good thing you hired security (yowza), because Dina's going to get mobbed with enthusiastic congratulations. So excited to be working with her and Dandelion!

  3. Yay, Dina!!!!!

Now pardon me from relishing my praise and joy upon you, for your waiter has appeared bringing food. Unfortunately for him, I'm not hungry, but no need to share with him that inconsequential piece of information. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  4. Congrats Dina! Love that title!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Hurray for Dina!! So exciting! Thanks to Deb for organizing the help. I will make sure that they don't feel as if they have nothing to do all day.

    ReplyDelete
  6. You guys!!! What a nice surprise :) Reminds me of my 40th birthday party. Yay me!

Loving all the help. I think Dandelion would be pleased as well. Matt reminds me of her charming Italian Sea Captain, Lucio. People tend to get confused and think he has dark hair, but he's from Genoa in Northern Italy. Replace those shorts for some breeches with a sword across the hips, and we're in business.

The cover here is just a mock one until the real cover is finished. We did the photo shoot yesterday. My daughter is the cover model. I always pictured the childhood Dandelion looking like her. We got lots of great dancing shots and some lovely stills as well.

  7. So happy for you, Dina. And what fun to have Deb throw you a cyberparty!

  8. I've had a good talk with the help. They will make sure everyone is taken care of while I sneak out for a ROOT CANAL. Hey, canal, ocean, lake it's all the same to me.

Hopefully we'll have more photos of the Inkies as a group in the next year!

Lots of healthy food as well as some fancy sweets. Fresh ground coffee and some really great teas for now. Fresh Squeezed lemonade for later, but we'll expand the menu as the day goes by.

  9. So glad to be at the beach. It's hot today and I need that cool water. and to celebrate with such a fine writer is an honor.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Congrats Dina. I was going to say I liked the cover, then you tell me your not using it. Oh well, I'm sure whatever you have will be great, since WhiteFire has awesome covers. And your daughter on the cover? Awesome!

The books sounds so good. I love those coming of age love stories. I'm really looking forward to reading it. When does it release? I think I remember something about the hard copy in November? Is the digital sooner?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yay, Dina! I am so happy for you! I can't wait to read this book. The description sounds so lovely.

Since we're at the beach, I've brought some Key lime pie with a scrumptious graham cracker crust. Waiter, could you have the security guard bring me mine with a nice glass of iced tea?

Laurie, I'm sorry it's hot where you are. Could you send some of that heat to the northwest? It's been cold so long, I'm beginning to think it will never be warm again.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Congrats, kiddo! And I'm loving the beach, been a long, cold winter here in upstate NY! Key Lime Pie?

Is Captain Jack here? Because he knows JUST HOW to make my coffee...

    Savvy?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Thanks everyone. About the cover, it will be similar with the castle and field of dandelions, but the model will be more visible and more precisely like the heroine.

Maybe I'll go for a walk on the actual beach today and take you all with me. Do you think Matt and Jesse will come? Who knows, maybe we'll run into Captain Jack and get that coffee for Ruth.

I don't think we have firm release dates yet, but its summer for ebook and fall for print. Influencers should get their copies around September.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Congratulations, Dina!! Looking forward to your book! Coincidentally, I just saw the first dandelions of the season. Is that timing?

Deb, what's the sense of healthy virtual food? I mean, if we're having an imaginary potluck, why not bring the good stuff?

I've packed a few buckets of authentic Buffalo chicken wings in my carry-on luggage. And if the party is at the beach, we'll need a few more coolers with cold drinks.

I'm still recovering from the sunburn from my trip to the beach last week, so pass the sun screen.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I agree, Barb, I get enough healthy food in real life. And virtual calories don't count.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Congratulations, Dina! We are all so happy for you and I'm glad you were surprised. What a way to start the day, eh?

Since calories don't count for our beach party, I'll take something with a lot of butter, please.

Oh, I like the fake book cover, too. Can't wait to see the real one, but the fake cover is really nice. I hope I get a real cover someday that's as nice as your fake cover!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Have no fear, all, our designer does a WAY better job than I do on those covers! =) Glad y'all like my fake (took me all of an hour, LOL), because that means the real one will totally WOW you.

My kids brought me some of the first dandelions of the season the other day, and it made me think of you, Dina. =)

Bring on that cake and pie!! And if Cap'n Jack is on coffee detail, I could totally go for a mint mocha . . . ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Okay I have done everything but tackle Dina and still can't get security's attention! What's a girl to do? Maybe if I steal the cake.... The water is so warm today, maybe I could pretend I am drowning and need CPR??? (oh yeah, and congrats Dina, and great party!)

    ReplyDelete
  19. You made my day, Dina. What a hilarious way to celebrate a terrific milestone in your writing career. I'm still holding back the laughter. And I'm so proud to be your WhiteFire sister. Whoohoooo. Way to go Dina. I can hardly wait to see the official front cover. I know it's going to be breathtaking.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Captain Jack brought rum cake. What else? Who could be surprised...

I love the cover too. Roseanna just threw that together for a sample a few weeks ago!! She's pretty good, eh?

Cheri, be careful with the pretend drowning, the security guy seems to be very busy!! We need more help.

Dina, who can we invite to help with the food service?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I happily volunteer the services of my upcoming hero, Emerson Fielding. You can find him by googling John Gidding (don't ask me WHY his image comes up if you search THAT name). ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw!!!

Congrats, Dina! A double thrill to release a book with your daughter on the cover. May the readers sink into the pages and dance with the dandelions. :D

No dandelions here yet. Saw my first robin the other day... lawn still until 2.5 ft of snow but it's melting fast. Let's not hope too fast or we'll flood. And then we'll really see the dandelions. Heh.

    Bless you, my Inky sister,

    Anita Mae.

    ReplyDelete
  23. LOL! You all sure know how to throw a party! I'm SO thrilled for you, Dina, and LOVE the cover and name of your heroine! I know it's not the official cover but it sure works for me:) The blurb sounds wonderful, too. YOU GO GIRL! Let's see, Lael will bring some dandelion wine, Captain Jack has the rum (thanks, Deb, at least I think this is what you meant;), Morrow and Red Shirt will kick in some buffalo jerky and apple tarts...

Congratulations from the bottom of my hungry heart!

    ReplyDelete
  24. LOL, there must be 2 CJ's at this party!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Aaaack! Will you guys stop trying to distract the security guard? He went to get me some more iced tea and Key lime pie.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Big congrats to Dina! What fun to dance along the beach with all of you... Kudos to Deb for organizing such a great shindig :+}

    ReplyDelete
  27. Okay, too fun. And I did make it to the real beach today.

Butter! Yes, if calories don't count I'm all for butter. Why not on some grilled shrimp and lobster. Let's get a bonfire going :)

Thanks everyone for celebrating with me and for all the lovely compliments. Cheri, you definitely had me giggling.

Why don't we invite along all the men from my book:

William, the handsome peasant boy with waving sandy brown hair.

    Gottfried, the stoic knight.

    Richard, the charming castle steward.

    Giovanni, the endearing Italian merchant.

You've already met Lucio the dashing sea captain, who will be played by Matthew.

Oh, there's also Lord Thomas Worthing. Maybe with a little imagination Jesse could take that role. He has freckles, blue eyes and dark hair, but longer. Think we could pass Jesse off as British?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'll loan Rene if we need extra help. Think Shemar Moore dressed like Rhett Butler.

    What a lovely party, Deb!

    And CONGRATULATIONS again, Dina!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Let's just invite all our heroes along. The more the merrier :)

Oh...I hear reggae music calling my name.

    ReplyDelete
  30. The idea of our historical heroes dancing reggae is quite amusing!! (Laura? Red Shirt? He's doing very well!)

    Loving all the guests!
After my root canal, the novacaine has not worn off. Please let me know if you see me drooling. I can embarrass myself easily enough without that!

okay, gotta run back to work but I love the feel of sand sticking to my feet again after a very long winter! (Ruthy is it really over?)

Waving to Anne first, and anxious for YOUR book release!

    ReplyDelete
  31. PS It's quite natural to see Dominick on the beach here, Laurie Alice...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yes, yes. Dominick do be a dear and fetch me some dandelion wine, with an umbrella if you please.

Has King Xerxes arrived yet? I imagine he'll expect some sort of royal treatment. He has quite a temper, but the man knows how to party.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Xerxes had a bit of trouble with the bridge (the man insisted on building a new one to reach the beach in question), but he and his entourage should arrive any moment. Of course, they come with their own gold utensils and bowls, wine enough to float a boat, and delicacies of a more Eastern bent. Hope no one wants any sleep tonight, because those Persians can party for DAYS! =)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Let's just hope no jealousy or intrigue erupt. Not sure how well Lucio and Xerxes will get along, but surely William and Thomas can smooth things over. They're both known for being tactful and wise.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Don't worry, Kasia's traveling with Xerxes--she'll keep him in line. Unless, of course, Lucia hits on her, but if Dandy's there to hold HIS attention . . .

Boy howdy, intrigue sure follows these characters of ours everywhere they go!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Dina, congratulations! I love the cover, it's beautiful. So excited for you!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Thanks, Niki. Just wait until the final cover is done. WhiteFire has an amazing designer.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Now it's a royal party but the kings must remember it's about Dina, not who wears the most gold ornamentation!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'll be sure to hit them each up for a dance.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Congratulations, Dina! Can't wait to read it! xxx

    ReplyDelete
  41. Okay I heard the suggestions and I have decided that to make the work load easier for you girls. I will lend a helping hand. I will be auditioning all security and cabana boys over on the west shore starting immediatly. I want the West Coast Boys on the left, East Coast on the right, Southern Gentlemen in the center, and all from out of town (or country) right here by me. Now all together, shirts off....oh my, this might be harder than I thought! Let's trying running a few love scenes to see how well you can act...My, My! What an eager group! (Hey this is MY imagination after all, so I am looking pretty good here too! Don't ruin it for me with that mirror!) Oh Dina, what a party! You and Roseanna can join me if you like, there seems to be plenty for everyone!Glad I could help...

    ReplyDelete
  42. Congrats Dina! Sounds like an amazing book!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh my goodness! The cover is so beautiful! I can't wait to read your book! Medieval is my favorite time period!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Still cracking up from Cheri's last comment. Jesse, my fan please.

Thanks ladies. I can't wait for you all to read it too.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Well-deserved congratulations, Dina!

And I hope you had a great day at the beach. What lovely weather today. Must have been in your honor.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Seriously, sunny and 80! Funnest party ever. Can we keep the guys around for a few days?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Glad you enjoyed the day, Dina.
I hope it's not too windy for fireworks!

hugs to you and all our guests!

    ReplyDelete
  48. It sounds like I missed a great beach party. I arrived few minutes ago and Matt was sitting in his jeep, Dandy drawing castles on the sand, Dina is no where to be found and when I introduced myself to the waiter he handed me the bill for the party. I refused to pay for the alcohol so that cut it in half. I asked him to send the remainder of the bill to Gina. God knows how she is going to react when she gets it in the mail :)

The sun was beautiful today, I hope none of you got sun burn.
    Congratulations Dina.

    ReplyDelete
  49. That's what you get for working late, honey.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Thanks for stopping by and joining in the fun :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Good call, Dani.
And a little bit of sunburn will remind us of a fun day at the beach.

    ReplyDelete
  52. And the party continues :) Thanks, Patricia. If anyone wants to see the pictures from the photo shoot for the cover, pop over to my facebook page.
