Anita Mae Draper

Anita Mae Draper lives on the prairie of southeast Saskatchewan, Canada where she writes cowboy stories set in the Old West. TV westerns and Saturday afternoon picture shows fueled Anita's love of the Old West at a young age. Inspired by what she read and saw, she began to write her own pioneer westerns as a teenager, only stopping long enough to raise a family and serve a 20 yr stint in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Her Christian faith is reflected in her stories of forgiveness and redemption as her characters struggle to find their way to that place we call home.

Anita's available books and their editions (print or digital) are shown on her amazon author page although they are available wherever Christian books are sold. If you don't see them at your favorite online store, or your local bookstore, ask the staff.  Her complete book list is shown on her website, as well as here:

Romantic Refinements
by Anita Mae Draper

The 2nd novella in Austen in Austin Volume 1 is based on Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility although some characters have been changed to fit the location as create a smooth transition to characters in the other novellas in this collection:

Naïve Marion McDermott spurns the love of quiet Brandon Tabor in favor of a handsome cowboy closer to her own age. An idealistic romantic, she wants to be swept off her feet, not aid a has-been Texas Ranger who walks with a limp. Yet something about the steadfast widower draws her close whenever he’s around, and it has nothing to do with her tripping at his feet. But, does Brandon have the fortitude to catch her when she falls?
