the CHRISTY AWARDS! Finalist News Presented by Nicole Cook!

The 2019 Christy Award Finalists have officially been announced. Congratulations to all of the finalists! The Christy Award, which is named after Catherine Marshall’s bestselling novel Christy, was established in 1999 and recognizes excellence in Christian Fiction. These authors put their hearts and souls into creating beautifully written stories that draw the readers closer to their faith and leave them filled with hope, so it is wonderful to see their hard work and dedication recognized. I was thrilled to discover that several of my favorite must-read authors made the list (Becky Wade, Susan May Warren, and Lynette Eason).

My favorite book of 2018 (Falling for You by Becky Wade) is one of the finalists in the contemporary romance category. Who doesn’t love handsome, charismatic former NFL quarterback Corbin Stewart?? In the same category is Wait for Me by Susan May Warren, whose books are also must-reads of mine. In the mystery/suspense/thriller category, Lynette Eason’s Called to Protect is the second book in her popular Blue Justice series, which is my favorite series of hers. With the fabulous selection of books, there is a lot of tough competition in the 9 categories and many difficult decisions for the judges to make.
Out of the 30 books selected as finalists, I have read 10 from the list, with my favorite genres being contemporary romance and romantic suspense. I have had many of the other finalists recommended to me for future reading. I haven’t read any in the visionary or young adult categories. I will definitely be adding more of these books to my TBR list!

The 2019 Christy Award Winners will be announced on November 6, 2019 at the Christy Awards Gala in Nashville.

Which of these books have you already read? Are there any of them that you want to add to your TBR list? Are there any favorite books of yours selected as Christy Award Finalists this year?
