As you can see I'm a bit obsessive about my historical flicks, and thanks to Netflix, I feed my habit a few times a month.

Lisa, I can only hope the poor actor who played Mr. Elton does not come after me for libel after comparing him to Pee Wee Herman.

Pee Wee called, by the way, and thanked me for mentioning his name.Debra E. You're a hoot m'dear. Love your comparisons. Haven't seen the miniseries, but Emma is my third favorite Austen novel, right after Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. I know, why am I drawn by the more obscure stories? I don't know. I just am.

For some reason I feel a strange compulsion to yell "I Lisa Karon Richardsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02175430876079208723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7502152359497137754.post-10400793846406254922010-07-17T18:17:04.827-04:002010-07-17T18:17:04.827-04:00Y'all are so knowledgeable about this! I forgot about that--haven't seen Mansfield Park in about a year.

Well, the other two Emmas are out there somewhere; the latest was fresh on 2010 Masterpiece Theatre. Once in awhile they replay during the next season, so that's one option.

Thanks for stopping by. It was just last week we had our mini-writer's retreat. I Debra E. I would like to see the other two, not sure if I can put aside seeing Jonny Lee Miller as a too-wimpy but strangely likeable Edmond in the scandalously off-base but still wonderful version of Mansfield Park.Julia M. Do you think it was that childhood backstory? I didn't think I'd like the actress' portrayal.

I took my job seriously here. I've seen Debra E. This is partly because Jeremy Northam is my favorite Knightly, but also because I read Emma in a literature class in college and the prof emphasized that Emma is truly a comedy. I think this version captures that feel best.

But I will say the newest version grew on me.Anne Mateerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11330467138236037032noreply@blogger.com
