I recommend it to anyone.Dina Sleimanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05214446103057806111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7502152359497137754.post-56571909111852783712011-01-20T08:15:54.474-05:002011-01-20T08:15:54.474-05:00I didn't want to put it right in the post, but...I didn't want to put it right in the post, but I really struggled with the Yada Yada's because it only had a single protagonst, and quite frankly, I couldn't stand her. She was the classic middle aged white legalistic Christian woman...aka...the woman I hide from at the grocery store.

I really wanted more POVs. I've read a couple of the Yada-Yada books and liked them. Of course, now that I think about it, most of the secular trilogies I like have three sisters or three BFFs tying them together, but they don't fit the genre here. Hmm. Thanks, Dina, for doing all this research! It helps me understand more about the category.Niki Turnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10419436634375255412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7502152359497137754.post-71659507522072200422011-01-19T13:56:36.546-05:002011-01-19T13:56:36.546-05:00Susanne, if you're looking for a purely fun re...Susanne, if you're looking for a purely fun read, the Sisterchicks are my top pick. They sound a bit different from my usual reads of late (ie historical!!) but I would love to lose myself in the humor of a book like The Potluck Club.

Thanks for the recommendations, Dina, and I echo Deb: the work and prayer you're putting into honoring God through your writing is inspiring. But, I really grew to love all three of my girls and their unique struggles. Each is wrestling against what they were raised to believe and searching for truth.

If you like my writer talk and want more, I did a slightly different version of this on my personal blog with Dina Sleimanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05214446103057806111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7502152359497137754.post-40826158256986786922011-01-19T11:27:02.760-05:002011-01-19T11:27:02.760-05:00Thanks, Deb. I stumbled onto the idea while reading a Beverly Lewis book with an Amish women, a Mennonite, and an Englischer. I loved the study in contrasts between the cultures and thought it would be a marvelous way to introduce an Islamic character to Christian readersDina Sleimanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05214446103057806111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7502152359497137754.post-60368787457021247002011-01-19T10:28:35.640-05:002011-01-19T10:28:35.640-05:00Dina, I loved this post and your "writer talk...Dina, I loved this post and your "writer talk"! I really like sisterhood novels.
