Ms. Pettrey gives us another thriller story to wrap up the Coastal Guardian series. Em and Logan are investigators in North Carolina but upon hearing of the murder of Logan’s grandfather, they travel to a ranch in New Mexico to find out what happened to Colt, the man who raised Logan.

With the regret that he had not visited his grandpa during the holidays, Logan digs in to solve the crime. Lots of things do not add up. And the girl who Colt befriended seems to hold the clues. But she is nowhere to be found.

Excitement and danger are never far behind Logan and Em and romance is not either. A great story with an underlying faith thread and a romance that teases you with: will they tell each other how they feel--or not?
