Will Mackenzie's background be a liability or an asset . . . or both. Lurking in the back of their minds is another relentless unknown; can they work together safely . . . legally, professionally, and personally?

This story took off both quickly and efficiently, with plenty of entertaining moments and high-octane action . . . complicated in some ways, but simple enough to understand in others. One thing remained certain, Mackenzie and Alex had formed a "critical alliance" of their own making, and thank goodness! They were going to need it. A very enjoyable book!

A real nail biter!
This was certainly an edge of your seat suspense. Full of cyber security, drones, hacking and a mysterious criminal from the past. The author also gave us the beautiful mountains of Montana, with its ravines and forests. The story ties up a few loose ends from the other books in the series as well as letting us catch up on previous characters.
Mackenzie and Alex meet in Montana after a fleeting tour of the city in DC, never expecting to meet again. The romance progressed quickly but was built on mutual respect and a common faith.
Mackenzie found herself in an impossible situation, hoping it would not put her job or her life in jeopardy. “She hoped to stay out of reach of the ghost from her past, present, and maybe her future.” And Alex, although he is supposed to be on a break, puts himself in a precarious place in order to help her.
Hold on for real excitement and a great story pitting a cyber criminal against the good guys.
