KIM'S FAVORITE READS OF 2024

 

I almost didn’t do a top ten list because my reading was way down this year. I ended up changing my mind because some of the books I did read have really stuck with me and I highly recommend them. So without further ado, here are my top reads for 2024. I know it’s not 10, but these books were the standouts. 

I also could not decide which story was my favorite so coming in at a tie for number 1 are:

BETTER WATCH OUT by Natalie Walters - In my opinion, this story is the perfect Christmas read! I loved every second of it- the wonderful characters, all the Christmas feels, the perfectly romantic romance, the humor, and the touch of suspense. I could not have asked for more, except for more stories in this series!

AND

THE SUMMER OF KEEPING SECRETS by Jill Lynn - this is a must read! I seriously loved this entire story! It contains everything I want in a book - romance, great characters, a mystery, and great writing that pulled me into the story and made the characters feel like old friends. 

And in no particular order-

THE COWBOY'S SECRET PAST by Tina Radcliffe - Have you ever read a book that you just don’t want to end? One where everything, from the storyline to the characters to the town, is done so perfectly you could just keep reading it? This is how I feel about this story! I loved it from the first word to the very last. I literally would not change a thing! You cannot go wrong with Tina Radcliffe!

HUNTED IN THE MOUNTAINS by Addie Ellis - Hunted in the Mountains by Addie Ellis was full of nonstop action, suspenseful moments, great characters, and a really good storyline. I was literally turning the pages as fast as I could! I really enjoyed everything about this story! I can’t believe it’s a debut! More please!

ONE LAST CHANCE by Susan May Warren -One Last Chance is my favorite Susan May Warren book to date! Get ready for some gushing! This story is everything I want in a romantic suspense! It has it all- great characters, edge of your seat suspense that will literally have you holding your breath, an insta-romance that is done perfectly (and that is saying something because this trope is not my favorite), a great faith thread, banter that will have you smiling, and one of the most charismatic heroes I have read in a long time!

NEVER FALL AGAIN by Lynn Blackburn - This story has something for everyone! There’s romance, great banter, close family relationships, a mystery that will keep you guessing, and the most perfect small town feel! Lynn Blackburn has outdone herself! I think this may be my favorite story of hers.

FOR A LIFETIME by Gabrielle Meyer - I absolutely love this story and the entire Timeless series! Each and every story is so innovative and so well written. The storylines are always immersive with so many wonderful characters. Whenever I think I know what is going to happen, Ms. Meyer throws me for a loop and does what I totally did not expect or even think of as a possibility!

LOWCOUNTRY LOST by T I Lowe- Another story I loved! The very first line sucked me in and I became so invested in these characters and their lives that I felt like I was living it with them. T. I. Lowe is one of my favorite authors so I expected nothing less. Everything I have read by her has been so well written and completely immersive. While heavy at times, it is also full of healing, humor, southern charm, and wonderful characters! Do not miss it!
