Release Party and Giveaway for Susie & Gina

It's a big celebration at the Inkwell this week as we join Susanne Dietze and Gina Welborn in celebrating the release of Barbour's The Most Eligible Bachelor Romance Collection of nine historical novellas.

We congratulate Susie on her debut release, Love's Reward, one of the nine novellas in this collection.

In honor of her story, I've visited her Love's Reward pinterest board and invited her two main characters to be members of our wait staff.
.

We'll start with the heroine of Susie's Love's Reward novella, heiress Josie Price who will be serving an assortment of flavorful teas at whatever temperature suits your fancy.

And from Josie's expression, she may have caught sight of the hero of Love's Reward, architect Daniel Blair, weaving through the crowd.

Although Josie's eyes are on Daniel, it's the tray of scrumptious mini Orange Souffles he's carrying that's drawing guests to cluster around him.

As we congratulate Gina on another release, we'll use an image I found on her Baker's Dozen pinterest board for the perfect setting of our party.

Can you see us here?

I can... I'm descending the stairs with my hand trailing down the polished surface of the banister, smiling at the guests who have come to congratulate Susie and Gina. A lavish setting in Gina's Baker's Dozen novella, called the Baker House, family home of her hero, cattle baron Duke Baker.

And here is Duke Baker himself, carrying a tray covered with rich slices of Chocolate Mocha Cake. Oh my, oh my.

And the woman at the coffee bar... I believe that's Gina's Baker's Dozen heroine, socialite Irie LeCroix.

With all those coffee flavours, both traditional and contemporary, she's sure to have something you like.

So make yourself at home and visit with guests and characters alike.

Before you drag yourself away, leave a comment for the giveaway detailed below. And tune back in on Wed for more of our celebration.

  1. I have slipped out from my office at work to enjoy a moment in these grand surroundings! My, everything looks yummy, but I am off sugar, so I'll have to settle for eye candy!
I am the proud owner of a copy of The Most Eligible Bachelor and look forward to settling in with them some nice summer evening.

Congratulations, Susie, on this first release. Many more to come! I've read your story months ago and I know it's going to be a success with your new fans!
next up, Gina's novella. Will this one replace the last as my favorite of hers?

Thanks Anita, you're a wonderful hostess!

    2. Thanks, Debra! I am so grateful for your patient critique! Enjoy the virtual treats and explore that fabulous-looking house in Fort Worth. Are there tours? Let's look for a docent...

    3. PS Gina's hero looks suspiciously like Jamie Fraser, eh, Deb? Let's ask him to say something. Like, "Yer rippin' my guts oot, Claire."

    4. Susie, every time someone here uses the word, docent, I think of a nanny or someone on a maternity ward. Why is that? Because I've gone to the dictionary yet again and it means scholar, academic, etc.

    5. Interesting, Anita Mae! One of the ways it's used down here is as a museum guide. Most of them are volunteer. I've never heard of the word in the context of a maternity ward. Thanks for teaching me something today!

    6. yes, docent is used in most museums for 'guides' who are available to give more information. I want to be a docent when I grow up.
And yes, that's Sam Heughan, who many will hear more about the TV show Outlander becomes more widely known.

    7. Susie, I just saw your comment and want to clear up that docent has nothing to do with maternity ward! It's just something that's stuck in my head for some reason much like I'll think a person looks like a Jane to me when actually her name is Matilda. Sometimes there's no rhyme or reason why our brains attach certain words to things, and obviously, my brain is not a normal one. :D

  2. What a fabulous party! Anita, you've outdone yourself. Sparkling flowers! Charming hosts! Delicious treats!

Since it's breakfast, I'll start with the tea and soufflés (for the orange in them, of course! Just like juice, right? lol). A little later I'll move on to the chocolate mocha cake.

    Thank you, Anita Mae!

Thank you for celebrating with Gina and me!
