SUMMERLIN GROVES by Elizabeth Camden, Reviewed by Rebecca Maney

REBECCA'S REVIEW
"A skeletonized body wasn't an emergency, merely another blow in a string of disasters over the past eighteen months."

"Sometimes it was terrible to have a conscience
." For if discovering a decades old skeleton on the perimeter of her orange grove wasn't enough, it was the object in the deceased's hand that proved to be the biggest anomaly; Jenny Summerlin felt as if she just couldn't catch a break. Her family's reputation was already in shatters, she had surreptitiously burned a portion of her property to negate an aggressive citrus canker, and now? Now there would be a hoard of investigators tromping all over the grove, including the one person whom she dared hope would stay away . . . but didn't.

Captain Wyatt Rossiter had severed contact with the woman he had fallen in and out of love with . . . until now. Despite their troubled past, Wyatt felt terrible about encroaching on Jenny's privacy, but ironically it was because of their previous relationship that he had been tasked with the job of getting some answers. When he realizes that there is more, much more, to the situation than meets the eye, his hopes of avoiding contact, and thus conflict, with the lovely grove owner becomes impossible.

Sometimes second chances are the only chances, and while Wyatt and Jenny take the circuitous route, the destination is the same. Along the way, there are many painful obstacles to overcome . . . especially when their discoveries manage to rock their entire community over a priceless treasure that except for a random lightning strike, might have remain buried for centuries.

An enjoyable blend of history, mystery, and contemporary romance!
