ENTANGLEMENTS by Rachel McMillan, Reviewed by Kim (Part of the Finding Ever After collection)

Entanglements is part of this four story collection!
Perfection!!! 5 stars is not enough for this truly wonderful story. It is romantic, humorous- there are some seriously great lines - and creative - the role that the game of chess has in this story is so fun! As soon as I finished it, I wanted to immediately start reading it again! Rachel McMillan has outdone herself with this brilliant story!

Nic’s devotion to his dad, and how he changes his life so that he can care for him, is not only beautiful, but it also tells us the kind of person he is. If that hadn’t already sold me on him, the first time he winked at Esther would have! What is it about a guy who winks? And the gift he gets her for winning/not winning their chess game - so perfect!

Esther was so easy to like! She was down to earth, smart, and very kind. She saw Nic for who he was, not for the things he didn’t have. She also stood by her morals even at a great cost to herself.

Nic and Esther’s first meet - which Rachel always does so well - I loved it! It foreshadowed the fun banter and wonderful relationship to come
I could go on and on about this story and how much I love it. This is the second story in the Finding Ever After compilation, which also includes stories written by Pepper Basham, Ashley Clark, and Betsy St. Amant.

*I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

BackCover Blurb:
Experience a touch of magic with these four fairytale-ish novellas that span over one hundred years. Linked by an illustrated book of fairytales, each novella is an enchanting combination of a beloved classic sprinkled with the author’s own brand of fairy dust.

Between Stairs and Stardust is set in 1913 Asheville, NC at the beautiful Biltmore Estate and includes a budding children’s book illustrator, an out-of-the box heir, and a teensy bit of Cinderella romance.

Entanglements has a Rapunzel twist and is set in 1920’s Boston between a reluctant heiress, a charming piano tuner, and a game of chess.

Twice Upon A Time is a Beauty-And-The-Beast inspired tale that brings a romance novelist back home to her family's pecan farm... and the ex-fiance she left behind.

Once Bitten is a nod to Snow White that includes a fake date with a handsome woodsman, seven geeks, and the world's best apple tarts
