Just in terms of a psychological thriller, this book could stand on its own two feet rather admirably. So many possibilities, so many plot twists, for both the innocent and the guilty have kept secrets. Add in a renewable love story and elements of a deep spiritual battle against seemingly impenetrable darkness . . . and the trilogy of plot, romance, and redemption adds up to quite a story! Not for the faint of heart mind you, some elements are borderline graphic in places and sickening in others; I chose to take a few reading breaks to avoid getting totally buried underneath the weight of the circumstances, but in the end . . . and it seems like it never will, but it does. . . justice prevails.
