Readers of sweet, small town romances will absolutely love Just Like Home, the latest book in New York Times Bestselling author Courtney Walsh’s Harbor Pointe series. Longtime fans of this series will enjoy minor appearances from some of their favorite characters from the town of Harbor Pointe, like my book boyfriend Josh Dixon. However, this book can easily be read as a standalone novel. After the brief introduction to Josh’s best friend Cole Turner, the high school football coach, in Just One Kiss (book #3 in the series), I am thrilled that Cole now gets his own story in Just Like Home.
Courtney Walsh is one of my favorite must-read authors, and her Harbor Pointe series is so wonderfully written. Just Like Home will definitely be one of my top reads for 2020. The light spiritual thread perfectly complements the storyline as the characters realize that love and forgiveness aren’t earned, but freely given by our heavenly Father.
Courtney Walsh creates another fabulous hero in Cole Turner, the handsome high school football coach, who recently dealt with his sister’s death along with the end of his marriage. His pain and difficulty trusting again is both realistic and endearing to readers, who are rooting for him to find love again. Prima ballerina Charlotte Page, a close friend of Cole’s late sister, may be just the person to turn Cole’s life around.
Just Like Home is highly recommended for fans of contemporary romance and for readers who enjoy novels by authors such as Denise Hunter, Becky Wade, Melissa Tagg, and Susan May Warren.
“It wasn’t passion or even ambition that motivated her. It was an overwhelming desire to be worthy.”
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author/publisher and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
Inkwell Faith Rating: (2) – light spiritual content
ABOUT THE BOOK
Prima ballerina Charlotte Page has a life any dancer would envy, but the tragic loss of her best friend, Julianna, leaves her wanting more. Or maybe—less. In an effort to make her life about something other than accolades and applause, Charlotte leaves professional ballet to save Julianna’s small-town dance studio. This lands her directly in the path of cranky high school football coach and Julianna’s older brother, Cole Turner.
Fresh off a state win and a bitter divorce, the last thing Cole expects is for a prima ballerina to chip away at the wall he’s grown quite comfortable hiding behind.
Will their fledgling relationship be strong enough to weather the storm of old secrets and a haunting past? Or will Charlotte lose the new, simple life she’s given up everything to gain?
