KIM'S FAVORITES Read In 2022

I always love writing my top (ahem) 10 list every year. It's like a trip down good books memory lane! I've noticed that the same authors seem to always make my list and that I don't do too well at keeping it to 10. Lol. So, without further ado, here are my top reads of 2022.

(Kim's Inkwell Inspiration blog post reviews are linked to titles)

Ronie Kendig- Willow, Range, Shadow of Honor and War of Torment are the books I have read this year. Ronie is always a 5 star read for me. Her storylines and characters are always amazing and keep me glued to the pages. Her talent is off the charts.

T. I. Lowe- this is a new to me author and my goal is to read her entire backlist! This year I read Under the Magnolias, Beach Haven, Driftwood Dreams, Sea Glass Castle, and Lulu's Cafe. All 5 star reads! I love her writing voice and her characters!

C. F. E. Black- I am loving this YA fantasy series - Scepter and Crown - and am anxiously awaiting the next story! If you plan on reading this, I highly suggest starting with the prequel novella, Shield of Shadow followed up by Blade of Ash and Crown of Dust. I love these characters and this world and can't wait to see what happens next.

Charles Martin. Do y'all see how I'm cheating here? Lol. This year I finished the Murphy Shepherd series by reading The Letter Keeper and The Record Keeper. This series is so good! But you must start with book 1, The Water Keeper. These stories and characters will stick with me for a long, long time.

In Spotlight and Shadow (2023) by Rachel Scott McDaniel. I LOVED every second of this dual timeline story. Rachel is an incredible storyteller. She writes the best characters and stories. I love how she writes banter between her characters.

Veteran's Vow by Jill Lynn. I have read Jill Lynn since she started writing LIS stories. This one is definitely my favorite of hers! The banter in this story is everything!

When the Day Comes by Gabrielle Meyer. Such a creative storyline! I loved it for its uniqueness and the wonderful characters and that awesome ending! I cannot wait for the next story in this series!

Dangerous Beauty by Melissa Koslin. This is another very unique story that I really loved. Meric is such an awesome character! I so wanted to be in his head! I also loved Lilliana! Such a strong, likable female character, which seems to be hard to come by these days.

Her Darkest Secret by Jessica Patch. What an intense thriller this story is. Rhyme is one of the scariest characters I've ever read! I highly suggest not reading this one before bed.

Last, but not least, Honor Bound by Hallee Bridgeman. This story was full of well paced, believable action, romance, and wonderful characters!

I highly recommend all of these stories and am once again so thankful for all of these authors who write such wonderful and creative stories!
