MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY by Karen Witemeyer, Reviewed by Kim

Let me start off by saying I loved this story! It’s my favorite Karen Witemeyer story to date, and it will be in my top reads of 2019! There’s really nothing I didn’t love about this story. I loved the time period, the setting, all the main characters, the theme of forgiveness that ran throughout, and the storyline! I mean who doesn’t love a marriage of convenience?

Zach is my favorite character in this story! He gives so much of himself for others. He may come off stoic, but underneath he has a heart of gold. And when he says you’re part of his family, he means it! I loved how he took Abby’s sister, Rosa, under his wing to help her with her situation! I also really liked Abby. She was determined to keep her bakery and I loved how she did it. I also loved how Abby’s mother taught her that “no matter how hard things get or how many disappointments we face, there is always someone who is facing an even more difficult path. Therefore, we should count our blessings and remember that the best way to take our minds off our own troubles is to help someone else with theirs.” What a great lesson to learn! And that really summed up Abby!

I also loved the message that we should choose faith in God over fear. Abby sums it up perfectly when she says, “I’ve chosen fear over faith more times than I can count. And every time I did, I ended up with regrets. When I chose faith, I didn’t always get the outcome I wanted, but I never regretted my choice, because I felt God beside me, holding my hand and lending me strength.” What a great message for all of us to remember, especially those of us who struggle with fear!

*I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

BackCover Blurb:
After fulfilling a pledge to a dying friend, Zacharias Hamilton is finally free. No family entanglements. No disappointing those around him. Just the quiet bachelor existence he's always craved. Until fate snatches his freedom away when the baker of his favorite breakfast bun is railroaded by the city council. Despite not wanting to get involved, he can't turn a blind eye to her predicament . . . or her adorable dimples.

Abigail Kemp needs a man's name on her bakery's deed. A marriage of convenience seems the best solution . . . if it involves a man she can control. That person definitely isn't the stoic lumberman who oozes silent confidence whenever he enters her shop. Control Zacharias Hamilton? She can't even control her pulse when she's around him.
When vows are spoken, Abigail's troubles should be over. Yet threats to the bakery worsen, and darker dangers hound her sister. Can she put ever more trust in Zach without losing her dreams of independence?
