Thrilling Suspense (The Deadly Decisions Collection)
"She had to control her runaway panic. She needed to be ready. Because she was alone. Alone with a killer."
Let's start at the beginning, shall we?
"Ten thousand dollars. For four days." Too good to be true? For Chef Adelaide Nichols it was a welcome infusion of cash for her trending New York restaurant, with that kind of money she could pay her rent and make a dent in the debt she had incurred just to get "East to West" established. The source of the bizarre job offer was a wealthy, obviously high-maintenance socialite who was used to getting her own way. Still, cooking meals for a private birthday party on a beautiful island near the coast of Canada didn't seem like a risky endeavor . . . until the front door of the five story Victorian mansion opened.
In spite of its tidy number of pages, this little book boasted a powerhouse of a story. Chilling twists and turns right down to the very, very, very end. Excellent short novel!
