I Can't Bear It! I Ain't Lion!

 by Jill Nutter

I think all you visitors to the Inkwell know that I was blessed with a three book contract. As I'm fond of saying, "God knocked my socks off!" :)
With this blessing comes a lot of work. Now, don't get the wrong idea. I'm so happy for this opportunity, but I have to go find my balance. My writing balance. So I am going to take some time off from blogging. I'll stop in now and then to comment and I might even surprise you all once and awhile but I have to do what God has led me to do and that's write the next book in my series.

Just like Rick Castle must write and research so must I. (You didn't think I'd disappear without plugging my favorite show now, did ya?) Now if I could only get one of those WRITER vests.

Photobucket

Because I work full-time during the day as a counselor and have a busy family like many other writers I've got to set priorities. And as much as I love Inkyland I must learn how to manage two careers. I have to admit, it's kind of fun having a pen name because I feel like I can change hats from counselor to writer; a definitive boundry so to speak. Does that make sense.

Don't be surprised if you see a Jillian Kent website launch in the near future (I'm sure my girlfriends here will keep you posted) and I may try a little blogging as Jillian, we'll see. But the focus is on getting the work done. So it is with some sadness I leave you for awhile, but I'll be back. Or as Arnold says: "I'LL BE BACK." Did you catch the deeper tone? :)

PhotobucketI ask that you pray for me and Jillian Kent during this time of transition. Pray that my words flow and find their way to the page in some semblance of story that will knock your socks off in the future.

Blessings to each of you as you pursue your dreams.

This one's for the girls, for the girls who love to write, the girls who love to read, and especially for these girls I have the pleasure of calling my Inky Sisters. See ya round the Inkwell.

  2. Hi Jessica!

Okay Jilly Jillian. I see you took my suggestion seriously.

I better start seeing some more Ravensmoore up for critique. I need to know what happens next!

Jill's books have lots of action and the occasional dead body. Love it.

And, we'll be watching and waiting for you to pop in with a post occasionally.
Congratulations again on your contract! YEEEEEHAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWW

  3. We'll miss you of course, Jill, but this is so exciting for you. I love the way you wrapped everything up so nicely before your sabbatical from blogging.

And I'm not a country fan, but I do love this song. So thanks. It's playing in the background right now.

  9. Hi Dina!
Not a country music fan? That's okay, I love you anyway. I don't like all country music but I am a Martina McBride fan. :)

    Hey Wenda,
Thanks for the compliment! I guess in this business we all have to be courageous. Not for the faint hearted at all. Hugs all around.

  10. Jill,
So happy for you! And, I too want one of those "writer" vests like Castle wears.

Best wishes while you attend to the demands of being a contracted writer!

  14. Hi Keli!
So nice to see your cheerful face here. As you can tell I'm surrounded by cheerful. That's what makes being a part of this crew so much fun!
This book deal has just amazed me and I'm so grateful to God, my family and friends. I had a blast when you interviewed me last summer, Keli.

    Christi,
Hi there! You keep in touch okay. And I'll try to do the same. We've got to find someone who can make Writer vests. They could probably sell a million of them.:)

  15. Hey Jill,
this morning the video wouldn't load for me so I'm glad I came back to check. I'm so excited about what is in store for your future.

By the way, I'm feeling pretty good about Dina's too. I just have this feeling. So glad you two will both be at BlueRidge. I'll get there one of these years...

What a great group we have here, and in the greater Christian fiction community!

  17. Deb,
I just love a good conference. It's a wonderful motivator and the best place to network and learn. Now I know Blueridge doesn't sell the CD's, at least I'm pretty sure they don't, but if you can invest in a conference MP3 from ACFW or Mt. Hermon. You get to hear everyone teach. I'm sure we'll be seeing you soon at a conference in the future.
