But I'm getting into the Christmas spirit. Why so early, when the holiday is almost four long months away? Because fellow Inkie CJ Chase and I have a novella collection releasing from Barbour September 1:

The truth is, many holiday-themed books go on sale starting in September. And people buy them early, and read them, even though it's not yet autumn.
I've been known to do this. I have some favorites that I dig out and read every once in a while, all year through, especially when I need a dose of cheer. One particular tough summer, I read nothing but Christmas novellas.
There's something comforting about holiday stories that I crave, I guess--something symbolic of restoration, peace, and goodwill. Something that says "abide and rest" while grand things occur. Something with a touch of whimsy and fun. Something that makes kids' eyes sparkle and their cheeks turn pink.
There's also the deepest, most profound message of Christmas, one we sometimes forget the rest of the year: that the world is sin-weary, and God came into our weariness in humility and love, and opened His arms to us.
Now that's a message that deserves to be shared all year long!

I'm so happy to see this release! YAY! I have to say I don't read much Christmas fiction because I'm always WAY behind on releases, but... this one will be read AT CHRISTMAS this year!
ReplyDeleteYay! Thanks, Deb! I hope you enjoy it. The stories are nice and festive!
DeleteThis collection sounds wonderful! I enjoy reading novellas at Christmas time, because I can read one in one sitting when I get a chance. I'm looking forward to reading it!
ReplyDeleteI love novellas at Christmastime, too. Winnie. The season is so busy and it's nice to have something shorter to read when I have a few minutes. I hope you enjoy the book!
DeleteOh, this looks delicious! Congratulations! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks, DeAnna! I hope you enjoy the book!
DeleteAs for me, I'm no where near ready for Christmas until after Thanksgiving so that's when I read a lot of Christmas themed books or novellas. Sometimes in July too for the whole Christmas in July thing :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for this set and that cover just evokes Christmas spirit of old doesn't it? Congrats Susie, I'm sure your story is delightful! Along with the other fabulous authors.
Hi Trixi! I know what you mean. A few family members are going to wait until December to read the book. It's so hot outside! LOL. I love the cover, too. It definitely calls to mind days of Christmas past.
DeleteThanks for coming by. I hope you enjoy the stories!
