Mary Connealy continues her Wyoming Sunrise series with The Laws of Attraction featuring widowed seamstress Nell Armstrong who is stuck making chaps for the men of Pine Valley, Wyoming, when she longs to make beautiful dresses and feminine things. When Brand Nolte and his three daughters happen into her shop, she sees her chance and offers to make some dresses for the girls in exchange for their help in her shop. Connealy is an expert at creating appealing and interesting characters and finding the perfect situation for them to shine. I enjoyed seeing Nell and Brand get better acquainted and seeing the town people come together to help each other.
When Nell shows her knowledge in law and investigations, the town leaders ask for her help in solving the crimes occurring in their area. With plenty of action, suspense, and a big dollop of romance, this book kept me turning pages to see what would happen next. I’m enjoying this author’s depictions of strong, capable, and independent women surviving the hardships in the wilds of Wyoming in the 1870s. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Can they risk giving in to the attraction between them while their lives are on the line?
If
widowed seamstress Nell Armstrong has to make one more pair of boring
chaps for the cowboys in her tiny Wyoming town, she might just quit the
business altogether! So meeting Brand Nolte, a widower struggling to
raise three girls on his own, seems like her dream come true. Brand has
no idea how to dress the girls properly, and Nell finally has a chance
to create beautiful outfits while also teaching the girls to sew.
But
Nell is much more than a seamstress, and the investigative skills and
knowledge she picked up alongside her late lawman husband soon become
critical when a wounded stagecoach-robbery survivor is brought to town.
As danger closes in from all sides, Nell and Brand must discover who has
a target trained on them before it's too late.
