WEDDING AT SEA by Melissa Tagg, Reviewed by Winnie and Rebecca

MUIR HARBOR BOOK #3

WINNIE'S REVIEW

“Don’t let fear make your decisions.”

Wedding at Sea is a fantastic conclusion to Melissa Tagg’s Muir Harbor series. While it could be read as a stand alone book, I would recommend reading the series in order, so as to get some of the backstory. I’ve been eagerly awaiting Lilian and Wilder’s story, because I love a good enemies-to-more tale, and I could tell from the first two books in the series that there was some antagonism going on between them. I was definitely not disappointed. Lilian is capable and independent, and Wilder is determined and lovable. They are realistic and engaging, and I enjoyed the banter between them and seeing their relationship change throughout the story.

With plenty of action, intrigue, romance, and a couple of mysteries running through the story, there is something for everyone to enjoy in this tale. This author is one of my favorite contemporary romance writers, and I’m eager to see what she comes up with next for her readers.

REBECCA'S REVIEW

"Be my guest. Except, wait, you already did. Broke into my boat and made yourself right at home, didn't you? Never took you for the lawbreaking type, but - " . . . if the shoe fits, right?

"Wilder Monroe, the bane of her existence", her brother's best friend, and now . . . well, let's just start with the fact that he had indeed caught her red-handed on his houseboat. Lilian Muir hadn't exactly broken in; for goodness sake she was a lawyer, an officer of the court. . . but she had kind of, sort of, pilfered keys from the pocket of his leather jacket.

Wilder and Lilian . . . trouncing around in a continuum of contentious-polite-love-hate conversations . . . for years now. His wild, winsome, cavalier, and highly intuitive persona was the perfect opposite of Lilian's always-by-the-book personality. When Lilian's mother teams them up as her wedding planners, what could possibly go wrong?

Setting aside all of the unknowns spread strategically through-out the pages of this book(a missing granddaughter, property break-ins, healthcare testing, and reoccurring dreams) it's the desire to truly "belong" that serves as a powerful, understandable undercurrent that threads its way in and out of every twist and turn in this amazing story. Trying to slow it down or trap it into a few sentences would be like trying to put the proverbial genie back in the bottle . . . and, who wants to do that?

"Maybe you simply never saw him. And now you do. . . . . " "Don't let fear make your decisions."

Let it be known though, that it was the witty, flirty, playful banter that stole the show! . . . along with the still, small voice of the Spirit.

(P.S. - and chapter 12!!!!! "There were some things a man just couldn't shake off.")

*I purchased this book and was under no obligation to provide a positive review. 4.5 stars

BackCover Blurb:

Two enemies. One wedding. And a seaside mystery decades in the making.
Lilian doesn’t remember anything about her life before the day Maggie Muir found her on her front porch—a toddler, abandoned and alone. And maybe that’s okay. She has a beautiful life at Muir Farm, including an adopted family she adores and a successful career as a lawyer. But she also has a secret . . . one that raises just as many questions about her future as it does her unknown past.

And, of course, it would be private investigator Wilder Monroe, her brother’s best friend and the bane of her existence, who sniffs out her secret before anyone else.

Wilder has spent the past three years trying to close the one case his father couldn’t—the mystery of Maggie Muir’s long-lost granddaughter. But the decades-long search has become more tangled than ever. It’s become more personal, too. Not only are the Muirs the closest thing to family he has left, but if he can solve this mystery, maybe he'll keep himself from drowning in the one he can’t . . . the truth about his father’s death.

In the midst of secrets and swirling questions, Maggie asks a favor of both Lilian and Wilder: put aside their bickering and work together to plan her summer wedding. It’s a big ask, made all the more difficult when danger comes calling at Muir Farm. But if the two enemies can stand each other long enough to pull off the event of the year, they just might solve a mystery in the process.

And the biggest discovery of all? That sometimes the one your heart longs for is the last person you ever would've expected.

Wedding at Sea is the breathtaking finale in bestselling, award-winning author Melissa Tagg's Muir Harbor series
