NICOLE'S REVIEW:
After discovering Living Lies, the debut novel by Natalie Walters, I knew I found another romantic suspense author to add to my list of favorites. Her Harbored Secrets series was wonderful and so engaging to read, but readers will be blown away by the phenomenal start to her new series.

Lights Out, the first book in her new SNAP series, is by far my favorite book written by Natalie Walters with its interesting premise, relatable characters, and realistic romantic thread weaved into the storyline. The deep friendships between the members of the team make them feel like a family that you wish you could be a part of.

If readers have a chance to read the prequel novella, Initium, it gives background information of how the SNAP team was formed and other details briefly mentioned in Lights Out. You do not have to read the prequel novella prior to reading Lights Out, but it gives readers an enjoyable backstory and allows them to form an immediate relationship with the characters of the SNAP team.

There are many handsome, charming, fun heroes introduced in this series who readers will love to learn more about. Lights Out focuses on Jack Hudson, one of the members of the Strategic Neutralization and Protection Agency, and CIA analyst Brynn Taylor, who he once shared a romantic past with. So many twists and turns in this novel kept me guessing to the very end. The author incorporates beautiful messages of God’s grace and the hope that God offers us. I cannot wait to see what Natalie Walters has in store for the rest of the series!

Lights Out is highly recommended for fans of romantic suspense, and readers who enjoy novels by authors such as Lynn H. Blackburn, Dani Pettrey, Irene Hannon, and Rachel Dylan.
*I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.

KIM'S REVIEW:
Lights Out is book 1 in the new SNAP Agency series by Natalie Walters. If this story is any indication, I think we are in for a fun ride! I love the SNAP team! Their camaraderie and humorous banter really lighten up the serious subject of terrorism.

I’m not gonna lie, Brynn was hard for me to like. She cared about one thing and one thing only, her job, and because of that, she had a tendency to challenge Jack too much. She did grow throughout the story, so by the end, I was happy with her character. On the other hand, I loved Jack from the second he appeared on the page! That being said, Kekoa was hands down my favorite character! He was so funny and basically stole every scene he was in! I am so looking forward to reading his book!

The pacing and action in this story are well done and I was guessing how things were gonna turn out till the very end! Lights Out is a great start to this new series!
*I received a complimentary copy of this book. I also purchased a copy. All opinions are my own. The faith thread is light.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
CIA analyst Brynn Taylor developed a new program to combat terrorism, and she invited members of foreign intelligence agencies to America to foster cooperation between countries. Now one of them, Egyptian spy Remon Riad, is missing.

Jack Hudson has been working for the Strategic Neutralization and Protection Agency (SNAP) for almost nine years and takes the lead in hunting down the missing spy. But he isn't at all pleased to find out Brynn is involved. It's hard to trust a woman who's already betrayed you.

Every lead they follow draws them dangerously deeper into an international plot. Kidnapping, murder, explosions, poisoning--the terrorists will do anything to accomplish their goal of causing a digital blackout that will blind a strategic US military communications center and throw the world into chaos.

Can Brynn surrender control to a man who doesn't trust her? And can Jack ever get over what she did to him? The fate of the world--and their hearts--hangs in the balance.

  2. Romantic suspense is one of my favorite genres to read. I really like government agencies and military stories! During this last year I have read some newer (to me) romantic suspense authors...Laura Scott, Mary Alford, Sherri Shackelford. I haven't read any of Natalie Walter's books yet. When I first heard about LIGHTS OUT, I was very intrigued! Now after reading your reviews, Nicole and Kim, I am super excited to read it!!
