TRIXI'S REVIEW:

If you love Regency fiction, then it goes without saying that you will love The Indebted Earl! Vetsch is a fresh new voice in the genre, though not new to writing. This is the third and final book in the Serendipity and Secrets series and I think it would be a richer tale if the reader has devoured the first two books. Because I think this ties all of them together neatly!

This is such an enthralling, adventurous, and topsy-turvy story that captured me in its pages. I loved both Sophie and Charles, watching them fall in love was the highlight for me. Penny, Thea, and Betsy—Charles' wards—added a delightful mix of feminine charm. Though I'd have to say ten- year-old Thea was a most challenging girl...more at home running amok then learning how to be a proper lady someday. She vexed Charles at every turn; he always said if she were born a male, she'd make a fine cabin boy aboard a ship.

I had a hard time putting this down because there wasn't a moment I didn't NEED to know what was going to happen next. There's so much to this and Vetsch kept things interesting around every corner. I loved revisiting characters from the first two books, such as Sophie's brother Marcus and his wife Charlotte. It's like seeing old friends again. There's also a bit of danger and mystery added when a smuggling ring is discovered.

This is Regency fiction at its best penned by a master storyteller! You'll find faith, love, adventure, danger, mystery and more. *I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review. All opinions expressed here are my own. *

One of my favorite genres is Regency historicals and this series has been the icing on the cake!

In book number three of Serendipity and Secrets, Stalwart Captain Charles Wyvern has his life planned out when everything is turned upside down. He has an obligation to fulfill from his dying friend Major Richardson. He has promised to look after Rich’s mother, Mamie and fiancé, Lady Sophia Haverly. There are more surprises in store when he gets to his family estate. He is the new Earl and has three young wards. Sophie was looking after her almost mother in law while she waited for Rich to return from war: “Duties are not burdens when they are performed out of love.” Can obligation turn to love?

Charles and Sophie are thrust into a new situation and seek God for the answers. But are they ready for what God shows them?

This is a story with a bit of intrigue and danger that brings feelings to the forefront. It is packed with likable characters. The three young girls are portrayed with spirit and wisdom beyond their years. The loving relationship between Mamie and Sophie shows that God can bring comfort in times of sorrow and He makes family where hearts come together.

Ms. Vetsch has penned a delightful end to her fantastic Regency series. I do believe Regency is her talent. She genuinely blossoms in these stories.

It sounds so simple. Until the stalwart captain is arrested on suspicion of smuggling, and Sophie realizes how much he's come to mean to her. Now she'll have to learn to fight, not only for his freedom but also for his love.
