It was so enjoyable to once again visit Hope Springs, Wyoming in Sarah M. Eden’s new tale, Choices of the Heart. Although this is a novella, it reads like a longer story and packs a lot of punch. Eden is a master at creating realistic, layered, and engaging characters and plopping them in intriguing places and situations, then allowing them to grow and change for the better. Sophie Kingston, a Baltimore socialite who doesn’t fit in there, and Burke Jones, an orphan who longs to be a success in his doctoring, are the
stars of this book.
When Sophie arrives in Hope Springs, she finds an entirely different
environment than she is used to. She also meets the doctor and a whole cast of other interesting and welcoming people. I enjoyed seeing Sophie and Burke’s relationship grow and evolve and their outlooks on life change.
