There are many new characters introduced at the beginning of the novel, which is typical in the first book of a new series, but readers will find themselves immersed in the storyline and trying to determine who the killer is. Patricia Bradley expertly sets up the storyline with numerous possible suspects to keep the readers guessing until the very end.
Standoff is highly recommended for fans of romantic suspense, and readers who enjoy books by authors such as Lynette Eason, Dani Pettrey, Irene Hannon, Lynn H. Blackburn, and Rachel Dylan.
